The Brief.
UK Sport commissioned a documentary-led video following GB Climbing coach Rachel Carr during a major competition weekend.
The objective was to capture the full scope of her role ahead of the qualification rounds through to the intensity and decision-making required if athletes progressed to Sunday’s finals. The film highlights the preparation, communication and tactical insight that define high-performance coaching, as well as candid moments between coach and athlete.
Output: 3-5 minute long mini-doc
Part 1: Female Coaches in Elite Level Sport
Part 2: Redefining British Curling - Bruce Mouat & Team Mouat
To create a film that explores how Bruce Mouat and Team Mouat have redefined British Curling - reshaping traditional systems, influencing athlete development pathways, and achieving sustained success on the sport’s biggest stages, from Olympic competition to Grand Slam titles.
It also examines how the team evolved into World No.1 contenders and Olympic gold favourites through progressive thinking and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Output: 3 minute long mini-doc + social media cuts
Part 3: Figure Skating - Build Up Home Championships & Milano-Cortina
The aim for this film was to build anticipation for the ISU European Figure Skating Championships in Sheffield, spotlighting GB Pairs skaters Ana Vaipan-Law and Luke Digby on home ice.
With a top-five finish at the 2025 Europeans in Tallinn the pair arrive in Sheffield with real momentum. For Luke, competing in his hometown adds another dimension, highlighting the performance lift that a home crowd can bring in high-pressure moments.
As the final major championship before Milano Cortina 2026, the event represents a crucial benchmark on the road to the Olympic Games and showcases UK Sport’s continued investment in British Ice Skating and world-class events on home soil.
Output: 3 minute long mini-doc + social media cuts
Authentic Stories.
Elite Environments.
Documentary-led storytelling requires trust, sensitivity and strategic intent.
If you're developing content around athletes, coaches or funded programmes, we can help shape the approach, as well as deliver the content.
Our Approach.
Documentary-Style Sports Storytelling
As a sports documentary video production partner, our focus was on authenticity and access.
Rather than heavily scripted content, we adopted a documentary-led approach built around:
Athlete and coach interviews grounded in lived experience
Observational filming within training environments
Minimal-footprint crews to protect performance spaces
Narrative structures shaped around personal journey and purpose
Outcomes & Impact.
The documentary series has been used across UK Sport’s communications ecosystem, supporting:
Stakeholder engagement
Programme visibility
Partner communications
Digital and event-based activations
More broadly, the films contribute to a wider narrative around elite sport in the UK - highlighting the dedication, infrastructure and long-term investment that sit behind international success.
By focusing on people, the videos strengthens understanding of the whole elite-level sport environment.
Production Across Multiple Elite Sports.
Delivering video production across three elite disciplines required careful planning and adaptability.
Each sport presented distinct challenges, so we developed a flexible production framework that allowed for:
Efficient filming within live training environments
Multi-location coordination (Edinburgh International Climbing Arena, National Curling Academy & Dundee Ice Arena)
Clear stakeholder communication
Structured approval processes

Why People-Led Storytelling Matters in Elite Sport.
In Olympic and high-performance environments, trust and credibility
are essential.
Sports organisations increasingly require content that:
Humanises funded programmes
Demonstrates accountability
Engages partners and stakeholders
Inspires future athletes
Reflects organisational values
Documentary-style sports video production provides depth that highlight reels cannot.
By focusing on athletes and coaches as individuals, organisations can communicate culture, purpose and long-term vision.
This project with UK Sport reflects our wider approach to sport video production: strategic, respectful and grounded in authentic storytelling.
