CLIENT: MARKETING PEAK DISTRICT & DERBYSHIRE

AT A GLANCE - PROJECT SPECS:

Demographic: Outdoor enthusiasts, 35-55 Dutch, German, USA

Locations: North York Moors, Northumberland, North Downs, Norfolk AONB, Cotswolds, Cornwall, Devon, Peak District, Pennines.

Logistics + timescale: Trails were split into three groups based on location and filmed/photographed in batches to optimise time and efficiency. We spent 3-6 days on each trail with 10+ locations on each, including scenes with models.

Output: 2-3 minute film (including animations) + suite of images with 2-3 hero images for each trail.

What we provided: We were commissioned by Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire to create films and a suite of images for 7 of England’s long distance walking trails. The task was to convey the character, culture and heritage of each trail, their highlights and landmarks and the experience of walking the trail.

It was great to be able to shape the style of each video, putting our own stamp onto videos that will draw visitors from around Europe to these remarkable areas. 

It was a hugely complex logistical project, with a lot of research and pre-production work and tight filming schedule - but simultaneously a great adventure and opportunity to explore areas of our country that we may not necessarily have gone to otherwise.

The films and photography are being used in many locations across the web, by tour operators, at trade shows and in printed literature.

A fantastic project to be involved with and our biggest to date.

Services provided: Cinematic video production, aerial videography, time-lapse photography, photography & animation.

Project Highlights: The film initial pilot film was taken to travel trade shows across Europe, even being played in cinemas in The Netherlands. The film brought to life the client's idea so well, that they scrapped their written presentations and used the film instead.
